Flash Project

Client: Myself
Role: Web Designer
Tools: Flash, XHTML, CSS

This Flash slideshow and portrait gallery was originally created to fulfill the requirements of a final project for a Web Multi-Media class. The page shells were made in Dreamweaver, but all of the behaviors and image placement controls were made in Flash using Actionscript. I am so enamored with its clean simplicity.

Early Childhood Mall

Client: Myself
Role: Founder, Web Designer, Web Develper, SEO Specialist
Tools: HTML, Perl

This site was created in 2002 to serve as an online resale shop for my selling my teaching, Montessori, and daycare equipment. It uses a simple Paypal shopping cart for checkout. The layout is controlled by nested tables. It is a great example of how a simple search engine optimized site can serve its purpose well.

Early Childhood Mall

Client: Myself
Role: Founder, Web Designer, Web Developer
Tools: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript

This is a re-design of the site above. It was created to fulfill the requirements of a final project for a Web Scripting course. This new version is written in XHTML and CSS. It includes many enhancements using JavaScript including pop-up menus, rollovers, customer log-in option, form validation, and a three page shopping cart system that is dynamically driven by cookies generated in JavaScript. To see a detailed list of the goals for the re-design project and to view before and after screenshots, visit this page.

Mock Up Magic

Client: Baker College Online
Role: Web Developer, Content Writer
Tools: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl

This site was conceived and constructed with two of my classmates as a group final project for an Electronic Commerce course. The purpose of the site is to sell the service of turning a graphic mockup into a functional web site. My role on this project was to write the content for the services page, determine the pricing structure, code the shopping cart series in XHTML and Javascript, and code the contact form in XHTML and Perl.

Kerrys Dance Stages

Client: Kerry's Dance Stages
Role: Web Designer, Web Developer
Tools: XHTML, CSS, Fireworks, Flash, SEO Specialist

This site was first created as a redesign of an existing site. I like its tight, elegant design, and it prints wonderfully.

The home page is longer than the interior pages. It was recently redesigned to better serve the needs of both new visitors looking for a dance studio, and current clients that want instant access to current events and schedules.

Early Childhood Links

Client: Myself
Role: Founder, Web Designer, Web Developer, SEO Specialist
Tools: HTML, Perl

Early Childhood Links is an international directory of shopping, educational, and resource web sites for parents, childcare providers, teachers, and homeschooling parents. I created this site in 2001 to fill a void on the internet, and it is very successful in its niches. This site layout is controlled by nested tables. I have though about updating it to XHMTL and CSS, but the time that it would take to do so is too cumbersome for it consists of over 500 pages. For now, the old-fashioned HTML layout is safe in all browsers (new and old), and that is a great fit for my audience.
